    Bit of a range boost here:

    I'll have to look into why it said this:
    targetingradius Old : 2.7500 => 0.9

    Instead of:
    targetingradius Old : => 0.9

    May have reintroduced a bug when I blew away the script and went back to an older version.

    Wow, that missile guy in the 68 has some hefty range and damage. Plus you can't get to it without eating a lot of cannon fire from his friends or kiting them and taking the missile fire. Looks like my refits went in the wrong direction. I thought the "puzzles" they talked about in the beginning may have been figure out how to do the target for little to no damage. It's like when the Reavers showed up. Well that didn't take long. The fucked with acceleration again. The radius on the enemy bots look like they're smaller than they initially said they'd go. Yes this is based on 10 minutes of playing. Gotta keep with tradition They Changed It Now It Sucks

    At a glance, seems like it's stack mag pulse, ECM, make a tank shells/missiles, and pray you have enough DPS on everything else (machine gun tanks first) to take out and mitigate the damage from the enemy targets. Meh, I'll go play Battlefleet Gothic for the time being.

    So I'm pretty sure that Xnih will back me up on this, but the offensive weapons that the Robots use were not range boosted or anything. The only change that would affect firing would be the target radius change, which was done to more closely match the tank artwork, size-wise. So the new radius should make it so that if your range ring touches the robot tank artwork (generally, since tanks are not always square, the target radius will cover most, but not necessarily all, of the robot hull. So that's the only thing I know of that would make it seem like there was a range boost.

    As for the Robot defensive weapons, the bigger heavy mortar and heavy missiles got range boosts, this being suggested by a number of players who thought that it was fair to possibly take some damage. The range boost was meant to make it so that very high level robot bases are a challenge. They can still be done for no damage, I believe, with really good driving and a strong build. Unfortunately, people have gotten the idea that they should have been able to kill the highest level Robots with weaker squads for no damage. This was as a result of our mistakes on the base/resyard setups, and we didn't change it though we knew about it a good while ago, in keeping with our promise to not make things harder in the middle of a content cycle. But we needed to fix the issue...

    As for the new content, we completely believe that there are really effective builds that can do the new content for minimal/possibly zero damage. We have tried a couple of strategy changes, and have had some good results. As for the 68, it may be that I missed having a heavy missile in it that wasn't in the previous version. But Robot offensive weapons haven't had a range boost, which I hope Xnih will verify. If we have a point where the world needs to get updated, I am going to look closer at the 68, and see if I need to swap a weapon on a tank, and will do so. In the meantime, I still believe there is a way to get 68s done for reasonable damage.

    Thanks for playing the game, and I am looking forward to some new features that will improve the game soon.

    Hi Keyser,

    this "outranging cannon" effect is visible in 52, 60 and 68 yards, AFAICT.
    I had the feeling in previous targets, that we had more than 1 range unit between our missiles and cannon, but I could be wrong due to magnetic pulse range helping to keep the NPC tanks at a nearly constant distance of 12.
    So, if the range difference was less than 0.7, with the new targetingradius key, then all is clear .
    I'll check the old breakdown to confirm it or not (I don't want to see a breakdown from current targets, there is no fun figuring out something when I know everything about the target ).

    Update coming soon.

    A quick review of the old 52 target's breakdowns didn't help much, but at least I did a video , xnih or I will have to dig a bit more .

    Note: tank slightly ahead is a decoy with a mag pulse 2 and no weapon.

    So, my squad is firing first, and outranging slightly the cannon, but not by much .

    so based on the video you still outrange them, but not by much. I believe this is part of the targetradius piece now that it is live. It has just shrunk the range difference a bit. We saw this when it was first turned on a few weeks ago before being turned back off for NPC battles at the time as it was even worse then as the NPC targets didn't have that attribute. So will take some damn good driving to stay outside of that, which due to the slightly lower range on mag pulse than the cannon when they come into range may not be possible. Granted this is still hammers vs a 52.

    I'll dig some and do some breakdowns when I get home if nothing else (tonight or tomorrow). One issue is the way I did the breakdowns for last month was just to link to the ID in the DB, so if the weapon was updated it won't show old. Oh well, gives me a reason to actually do a breakdown more like I did for TOG.

    I really don't want to dig too much, but at least visually I can tell, this is a large MGP, so it should be a targetingradius of 1.5, i.e. same as my hammers. And this large MGP is not equipped with ballistics only (cannon + gun I guess), so not the same as in previous targets, it seems, as a missile 3, IIRC, was on it.

    So best explanation, would be to find a cannon/gun with a range of 11.5, it would explain everything... .
